It worked
Basically, we needed to move the antenna for a WIFI connection away from the cpu which is rather radio loud (2GHz clock is right in the middle of the bands). So this works. Didn’t check specifics about the gain/loss or anything like that, but am satisfied that the cost/performance was fine.
