Intermatic Magnetic Trip Wireless Alarm with Switch

Excellent product - you can switch it on or off, when in the on position, if someone opens the window you will KNOW - very loud… this is good to keep people out (security purposes) but with twin toddlers and huge room length windows, this is also good to keep little people IN! I would highly recommend this product - the only drawback is the adhesive is not the best and the product can fall off the window in high temps, causing the alarm to sound… simple fix is to use your own stronger adhesive strips or crazy glue, etc. A good price also. We could have wired all the windows in our home with our home security service for $99 PER WINDOW, so we chose to put these up instead. Same basic effect, except obviously these are not monitored by the security company. But the principle behind how they work seems to be the same.

Excellent product when you need an inexpensive alarm
Having bought this alarm for my own windows, slider and screen doors, I recommend it highly. It is a very simple system and inexpensive way to secure your home, alerting you to an attempt at intrusion with a loud alarm.
When installed, the magnetic field is broken when the window or door opened and the alert sounds out.
There is a simple on and off switch when you do not want the system active.
For hotter, humid climates such as Florida, I have found using heavy duty velcro a more reliable way to secure the alarm for the long run than the double sided foam provided.
Buy this if you’re worrying about breakins! You’ll sleep better.

No one’s getting in our window without us knowing
We bought this for the room at the far end of the house from our bedroom. I’ve long worried that if someone forced or broke that far window at night, we’d never hear it. With this alarm there’s virtually no way someone will get in that window without the siren going off, and that should be enough to scare them away. If not, we’ll be there with our dogs and baseball bat to welcome them.

This window alarm is very easy to set up. Because we live in hot FL and it’s a south-facing window, I took the advice of some other reviewers and fixed the halves with velcro rather than using the included sticky foam. I also placed it at the bottom of the window rather than either side to make it even more difficult for an intruder to avoid tripping it.
