GE Nighthawk H1-55NH/BP, Not worth the normal price

Overall Rating22222

Not worth the normal price

The story:
I bought these headlights on the 2-for-1 sale. I actually installed one in the driver’s side of my 2004 Mazda 6s, but was forced to leave a standard bulb in the passenger side due to not having the right sockets to remove the coolant tank to access the headlight assembly. This allowed me to gain a unique perspective as to how much of improvement these are over standard bulbs.

The test:
Not a very big improvement. There is no way that it is 30% brighter than a standard bulb, but it is brighter. I would probably agree with the first reviewer and say that it is a 10% improvement. When I was buying them, I was thinking that these were like the bright blue headlights that are becoming popular, but they definitely are not.

The verdict:
I would never buy them at the normal price of $17.99 a bulb. If they are ever on another 2-for-1 sale again, and you are looking to replace your headlights with similar-to-standard bulbs, then I think they are an OK deal. 3 out of 5

No brighter whatsoever
Bought these for sale on a 2 for first Measured light output with a light meter and found about 10% profit on the one side, no noticeable improvements on the other. Granted, it was a little rough, yard stick length before each detection of light peak, but reasonable. The real test was the next morning, driving my dark winding country roads and I could see no difference. I will never buy again. Standard light bulbs are just as good and much cheaper. Thanks to GE, you make us proud.
