DeLonghi large Toaster/Oven a hit

This oven is definitely considered large, even if it doesn’t appear to at first. I have another DeLonghi oven that is going strong for over 12 years and it is barely 11″ wide and just 9″ deep. The 6-slice Oven reviewed here easily handles a 13″ round pizza, with a special round protrusion in the rear to handle the round pizza shape. By comparison, my old oven is good only for 4 slices of bread.

The 3 dials of the 6-slice oven is the way to go, offering far more control via option to have upper coil only, lower only, and both. I had very good luck with DeLonghi kitchen products.

Update (2/6/2012): This item is currently on sale here for the lowest price I’ve seen.

NEW DElonghi ovens Cheap!
I have many Delonghi toaster ovens years.Delonghi furnaces are generally well preserved, and years in the property. Delonghi ovens are generally worth more expensive than other manufacturers, but the money. This model is EO1200B of Delonghi latest line of toaster oven. It looks and is very cheap. I have my mother rmodel EO1200B oven and was very disappointed. Interior walls are oven delonghi ovens aluminum smelting durastone not like others. Aluminum in furnace cleaning impossible. The wire rack can be used only one way. Other delonghi oven racks have 2 positions. Oven Inside there are 2 positions / slots, on rack, but below, air vent slot is too small to Coils & food will burn. Pizza in the oven only when pizza is done "perfectly" to align with contours of the rear wall. Do not recommend this oven. Buy an older Delonghi ovens, which are made much better. I think Delonghi cut corners on their new line of toasters to communicate with other manufacturers, the prices competitive!

Can’t say I agree with the others… ours works great, but no secret midnight toast.
My biggest complaint about most of the ovens I have looked at in the stores was that the door feels loose and janky. Let’s see, the thing I use the most SHOULDN’T be the cheapest-feeling thing on it, but they usually were.

The door on the DeLongi is not the most noticeable thing - meaning it just blends in with the rest of the construction as far as quality and usefulness. Meaning: NO janky garbage here.

The knobs are good, still way better than the ones I felt on the new O***r ovens, which were horrible.

The heating element is nicely placed in that i found it heated the food evenly. A mini pizza came out with an even browning on both sides.

When using the supplied trays you may find that the heat doesn’t quite travel around the tray to the top like it should. We end up using the rack most of time, anyway.

The top of the unit gets very warm, but doesn’t feel as though it would burn you if you touched it quickly. (If you pass out and fall on top of this thing you might experience a different result.) The sides remain quite cool to the touch. The back, however, is just metal and gets just as hot as the inside of the oven. I recommend you keep an eye on just how far back you shove this thing to your wall. Anything that touches the back of the unit MAY get hot or become melted (i.e. wiring, counter back splash, Grandma’s hand-knitted doilies…)

The bell is kind of annoying. In this day and age, I do not own anything that has a bell and striker. When the timer reaches zero or when you turn it off the oven rings the bell once. I found it a bit ‘rotary dial’ sounding (yes, you’re old if you remember those phones.) So, when you are up at midnight sneaking in a piece of toast you will surely wake up the others with the tell-tale sound of that stupid bell as you turn off the oven. Then you will have to either explain or share. I’m opening it up and removing it - I like my secret midnight toast.

All being said, I HIGHLY recommend this oven.
