Works well
I bought a pair to connect my Panasonic IP Network camera to my router and to the Internet. They have been working very well and are problem-free for the past 6 months. It will even work with my older Linksys 14Mbps Powerline adapter. This adapter is also slimmer and smaller than the Netgear 85Mbps model, which means it won’t block the other power plug, unlike the Netgear. It is also less expensive.
Update (2/5/2012): This item is currently on sale here for the lowest price I’ve seen.

Megaplug 85MBPS
I purchased the Actiontec two megaplug kit to extend my Fios home network because wifi was not fast enough (6 to 24MBPS). I purchased this megaplug to add another computer to the network. These products were suggested by my providers tech support when the WiFi was transmitting too slow. This product was easy to set up and provides a consistent stable connection for the other computers to connect to the Internet.

Works as advertized out of box. No fiddling needed.
After totally unsatisfactory wireless links, including fiddling with the Linksys Range Extender I gave up on wireless, using this for connecting two buildings on the property. Plugged in and it ran. Works fine with the Acitontec 85 mbps 4-port hub.
As other reviewers have said, you have a chance it won’t work if the two places you want to connect are on the opposite phases of your power feed.
If that happens, it’s never gonna work so send it back.
